Services for Adults with Disabilities

Provided by Sooke Family Resource Society

Provides various programs such as life skills and day programs for adults living with a disability.
The following services are offered:
South Island Community Connections (SICC): SICC provides person-centred support services to eligible adults referred by Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). Services are designed to promote greater independence at home and in the community through opportunities for skill development, inclusion and outreach. Supports offered include:
  • Personal health and hygiene
  • Budgeting and time management
  • Shopping and meal planning
  • Problem Solving
  • Community Inclusion
  • Social networking
  • Weekly drop-in group
  • Referrals to additional community services
  • Helping to establish and maintain healthy networks

One-to-one support services are available between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Appointments outside regular service hours may be available by request. For more information, contact the Langford office. See information below.

Welcome Home (Homeshare): Offers home-sharing arrangements to eligible adults with Providers throughout the Capital Region. The Home Share Providers are carefully screened and matched with individuals to promote harmonious living and foster growth. Supports offered may include:
  • Developing daily life skills (hygiene, budgeting, meal preparation)
  • Building community connections
  • Practicing independent decision-making
  • Accessing public transportation
  • Creating a sense of belonging

Empowering Personal Wellness Day Program: The Empowering Personal Wellness Adult Activity Club provides a safe and supportive environment for adults to engage with peers, develop skills, check out new things, and access the community. Activities may include:
  • Arts and crafts
  • Beach and CRD park outings
  • Recreation center visits
  • Museum tours
  • Skill workshops and presentations
  • Day trips
  • Holiday events and theme days

The Empowering Personal Wellness Adult Activity Club runs on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Special events may be held during different hours. For more information, please contact Julie at the Langford office. See below.
