A social and recreational program for people living with young onset dementia.
The team pivot program is a social and recreational program for people living with young onset dementia (diagnosed<65 years old). Team Pivot is designed to support individuals living with young onset dementia, a rare dementia affecting 5-8% of people living with dementia. This program has a focus on engaging in physically active recreation as well as supporting social connections. The 3.5 hour program begins with lunch in a local restaurant followed by an outing (e.g. bowling, miniature golf, hiking, etc). A maximum of 8 Members attend the program each week. The program is offered in partnership with New Horizons - James Bay.
Eligibility: Dementia diagnosis required.
Cost: $200 per 10 week program. Bursaries are available to anybody who needs it. It is sliding scale bursary with full support for those who need it.
