Services for Children, Youth and Families
Caregiver Support, Family / Parenting, Mental Health - Child & Youth, and Youth Services
Provided by Thrive Social Services
- Family Development: This Program serves parents who require support, guidance, feedback, and skill development to improve family functioning and ensure safe and healthy living environments for their children. Referrals required from Child Protection Social Workers from Core Victoria and West Shore branches of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
- Out-of-Care: Serves non-parental caregivers who need help to ensure a safe living environment for the children in their care. MCFD referral required.
- Foundations Parenting Program: An intensive parenting program which is provided in a group setting and in the family home. It runs for 10 weeks. MCFD referral required.
- Youth Services: Support youth 12-19 and their parents/caregivers who have an open file with MCFD through its protection or youth guardianship programs. MCFD referral required.
- Rise Up Youth Employment: Provides employment services to youth aged 15 to 25 who are facing barriers to employment.
- Mental Health Outreach Team: Supports children and youth (under the age of 19) who have significant emotional and mental health issues. The referred child/youth is queried or formally diagnosed with a mental disorder and is displaying high risk behaviours, placing them, family members or the school community in unsafe situations. The program works with the child/youth and supports the family and the school community in which the child/youth resides.
- Children and Youth with Support Needs: Works with children, youth, and families to develop skills and support community participation. MCFD referral required.
Some programs are accessible directly through Trive by self-referral and some will require a referral from the Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD).
