Community Education Program: A unique and powerful presentation that helps people in the community to understand the nature and prevalence of chronic and severe mental illness.
Family Support: Provides family support group meetings. The family support group meetings provide a caring, supportive environment for families and friends impacted by mental illness. The meetings are devoted to sharing stories and ways to cope with mental illnesses. Please check the website for current times and to sign-up. Support groups run year-round.
Family-to-Family Education: Family-to-Family is a free 8-week education program developed by the National Alliance on Mental Illness adapted specifically for Canadians. It is a designated evidence-based program, with research demonstrating that participants have significantly improved coping and problem-solving abilities. The course is taught by trained family members with lived experience. It includes presentations, discussion times, and interactive exercises.
