Rewarding Recovery Contingency Management Program - Island Health Area

Provided by Island Health

Using the Contingency Management (CM) approach, participants work in a safe and supportive environment towards reducing or quitting substance use through structured, achievable goals.
Contingency Management (CM) is an evidence-based approach that uses rewards to support recovery from the use of stimulants, including crystal meth, crack, cocaine, amphetamine and MDMA. Island Health's CM program, Rewarding Recovery, encourages recovery behaviours though positive reinforcement and incentives. In a supportive and clinically supervised setting, clients receive rewards (often gift cards) for achieving specific milestones like attending group sessions or providing negative urine drug screens.

  • Interested and able to participate in weekly meetings
