Advocacy and Support Services for Persons with Disabilities

Provided by Action Committee of People with Disabilities Society (ACPD)

Provides peer support and advocacy for people with disabilities living in the Greater Vancouver Area.
This program provides advocacy for the following issues:

Applications
  • Canadian Pension Plan CPP & CPP-D
  • Persons with Disability (PWD) applications
  • Old Age Security (OAS) & Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
  • BC Housing & VIHA Home Support
Advocates can assist with:
  • Step-by-step advocacy for Appeals, Reconsiderations, and Tribunals
  • Fighting early CPP Benefits
  • Attend meetings, court hearings, and Tribunals in a supportive capacity
  • Obtain wheelchairs and other assistive devices
  • Education, information and referrals
  • Complaints to the Ombudsperson
  • Human Rights Complaints
  • And more...
