Greater Victoria Coordinated ID Service

Provided by Community Social Planning Council

Assists underserved clients in accessing and applying for various forms of identification, which are necessary to obtain vital services and supports such as housing, health care, income security, and other social services.
The Greater Victoria Coordinated Identification Service offers client-based, pro-active, and respectful ID services for underserved populations. In partnership with local community organizations, they have established a coordinated regional effort to increase access to services in acquiring or storing ID through weekly drop-in clinics, or by contacting the staff directly.

Assistance is currently in the following areas:
  • Birth Certificates for all Canadian provinces and territories
  • BC Services Card & BCID
  • Secure Status Card (SCIS) (renewal/replacement only)
  • Booking ICBC appointments
  • Mailing Address for applicants
Assistance is NOT provided for:
  • Citizenship Applications
  • PR Cards
  • Birth Certificates from countries other than Canada
When referring clients to these services, ensure that the applicant is present so that as much information as possible can be gathered and the process can be fast-tracked. Staff will contact either the referrer or the applicant to follow up with any necessary steps.
