Provides eating disorders services to individuals 19+.
Eating disorders program provides a range of services in a safe and supportive environment to adults 19+, and their families, who are dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder and binge eating disorder.

Services include community-based individual and family therapy, group therapy, psycho-educational sessions and information and education for the public and health professionals. Guided by the needs of the individual, they provide specialized outpatient services which may include:
  • Medical, psychological, psychiatric, nutritional and family assessment
  • Group therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Caregivers support group
  • Medical and nutritional support
  • Consultation to GPs and other health care providers
  • Liaison/referral to tertiary eating disorders programs
Eligibility: Adults who are dealing with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder. The Eating Disorder Program services clients with eating disorders as outlined in the DSM V. The client will have:
  • An intense preoccupation and concerns with body shape and size
    AND
  • Significant low weight or weight loss due to voluntary restricting of food intake (i.e. 15% of baseline normal weight).
    OR
  • Binge eating at least once per week for three months accompanied by feeling out of control and purging behaviour.

Adult patients are required to attend an information session as part of the referral process. Patients may attend this prior to referral information being sent.
