Adapted Fitness Centre - MOVE Adapted Fitness & Rehabilitation

Provided by MOVE Adapted Fitness & Rehabilitation Society

A specialized fitness centre for children and adults with a physical disability.
Through their specialized adapted fitness centre, MOVE provides adults and children with physical disabilities a safe and encouraging place to move their bodies, reach their mobility goals, and improve their quality of life. At MOVE they work with people of all abilities, including but not limited to spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, paralysis caused by stroke, heart attack, and more.

Utilizing MOVEs in person services means you would work with our Athletic therapist or Kinesiologist to build you a program based on your needs, abilities and goals. MOVE has a team of 30 trained volunteers to assist all our members with their personalized exercise programs. This includes assisting members: on/off of specialized adapted exercise equipment as well as assisting with range of motion exercises and passive stretching techniques.

They also offer two online classes; a Yoga and a chair based exercise class both of which are free of charge.

MOVE offers a monthly unlimited membership for $60/month, a 5 time punch card for $50 and a drop in rate of $15/session. They offer financial assistance to anyone who qualifies where we would cover 50-100% of the monthly rate. To be eligible for a 100% Subsidy an individual must have an income of $ 21,780/year or lower (no spouse), or $ 27,112/year (applicant and spouse). A 50% Subsidy is available for individuals with an income of $ 27,780/year (no spouse) or $ 30,112/year (applicant and spouse)/
