Early Years Services - Ladner and North Delta

Provided by Boys and Girls Club

Programs designed to encourage children to learn through play, focusing on early literacy experiences, strengthening parenting skills, and promoting family and community engagement.
Provides a child-friendly learning environment that stimulates brain development. Children then learn to socialize and acquire skills that help prepare them for life. Parents are encouraged to observe and participate in activities that assist early learning and discover new ways to support their children’s learning at home.

Family Drop-Ins Provide:
  • A welcoming environment set up with developmentally appropriate toys and play equipment for child(ren) to explore
  • Knowledgeable and experienced staff facilitators
  • The environment for parents/caregivers to learn new parenting skills while sharing and networking with other parents
  • Information on Community Services
  • Nutritious Snacks for children
  • Circle Time with songs and stories
  • Crafts and creative activities
  • Visits from Community Health Professionals
Parent Connect:
Parent Connect provides support, advocacy, and parenting information to families living in Delta, British Columbia, with children ages 0 to 6.

Families are provided with home visits and individualized, family-centred, strength-based support. Parent Connect is for families who may be isolated, lack community and/or family connections, and need current information on parenting, healthy child development, and school-readiness.

Parent-Child Mother Goose:
Introduces parents/caregivers to the pleasure and power of using songs, rhymes, and stories with their babies and young children. Parents gain the skill and confidence that enables them to create positive family patterns during a child’s crucial years. It also provides their children with healthy early experiences with language and communication.

Growing & Learning Together - Nurturing Ourselves and Our Babies - A Group For Young Moms:
  • Connect with other young moms
  • Bring questions and share ideas
  • Have fun while learning new skills
  • Free baby supplies and bus tickets
  • Lunch is provided
  • Location: Gibson Elementary School / 11451 – 90th Avenue, Delta, V4C 3H3
  • Every Thursday from 12:30pm – 2:30pm
