Settlement and Integration Services

Provided by Intercultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA)

Program supports the full integration of newcomer immigrants and refugees into the social, economic and civic life in BC.
Services Include:
Immigrant Welcome Centre: From housing and education to employment services, ICA’s Settlement Services team can help newcomers navigate and connect with important resources and support.

Learn English (LINC): Provides English language training from beginner to advanced levels for adult newcomers to Canada. LINC is funded by the Government of Canada and is FREE for eligible students.

Employment Services: The immigrant-oriented employment services assist with finding job postings, online applications, resume and cover letters. The resource center provides a place to job search and access computers, a job board, photocopiers, fax machines, and other resources.

Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants: Program bridges newcomer professionals to a meaningful career that aligns with your pre-arrival experience and training.

Youth & Family Services: ICA provides immigrant programs for youth between the ages of 7-28. In addition, during the year, we host many different types of youth events, social gatherings and summer camps in and around the community to help build cultural connections.

English Classes: Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) provides English language training from beginner to advanced levels for adult newcomers to Canada. LINC is government-funded and free for students.

Settlement Workshops:(ICA) offer a variety of educational workshops and training seminars covering a range of topics related to multiculturalism, diversity awareness, immigration, and human rights in the workplace and community.

Interpretation/Translation Services: ICA provides high-quality professional interpretation/translation services in many languages. Interpretations can occur in-person, by phone or representation at appointments (schools, doctors, lawyers, social workers, etc.)
