Condition Specific Support and Services for Seniors

Arthritis Society Canada provides arthritis support and education programs that offer evidence-based information, peer connection, practical tools, and supportive services to help individuals affected by arthritis better manage their condition and improve their quality of life. No referral is required.

Programs and services offered include:
  • Arthritis Line: The Arthritis Line is a free telephone and email service connecting people affected by arthritis with trained volunteers who can provide reliable information about types of arthritis, treatment options, symptom management, and community resources. Trained volunteers also offer empathetic listening and can refer callers to peer listeners when needed. Call 1-800-321-1433, press "2"

  • Online Support Groups: Through the Arthritis Connections peer support program, participants join facilitated online groups where they can share experiences, offer encouragement, and learn from others facing similar challenges. Groups are available for different arthritis types and topics, such as pain management, staying active, joint replacement recovery, and supporting someone with arthritis.

  • Arthritis Talks Webinars: A regular series of live webinars featuring leading arthritis specialists who share practical, evidence-based strategies for managing symptoms, pain, activity levels, and overall health. These sessions are suitable for people at all stages of their arthritis journey and provide actionable tips that participants can use immediately.
Other resources available include guidance on navigating arthritis care and medical appointments, specialized support for children and families affected by juvenile arthritis, mental health and stress-management tools, nutrition education to support joint health, and tools for employees and employers to optimize workplace joint health and reduce arthritis-related challenges at work.
